Frugal Freelancer Fridays: ThingFling.com

It’s Friday again, which means it’s time for another installment of Frugal Freelancer Fridays! This week’s money-saving tip? Save money on tech and office purchases by using deal of the day (DOD) sites that slash prices. I’ll be talking about ThingFling today.

In the past eight days, I have been able to purchase a Skype-compatible VOIP phone, computer speakers with subwoofer, Wilson Jones professional folios (6-pack), a 6 megapixel Web cam, and a Phillips headset for the grand total of $111.95. The Web cam alone retails for around $60, so I’ve saved a ton of money on things I am using on a daily basis.

So how does ThingFling work? Every day, a certain deal is posted and a countdown timer is displayed to let you know how much time is left to buy. Sometimes, the deals sell out and have to end early. Most of the items available are tech items, but there have been deals on pet items, flashlights, and health monitors. If you’re a freelancer, you’ll benefit the most from their deals on tech and office items. ThingFling also offers mystery boxes filled with goodies – the catch is, you don’t find out what you’re getting until it arrives.

If you’re looking for a way to save money in your freelance business, check out ThingFling and find the best deals for your needs.
